SINGER Expert Finish 1700 Watt Steam Iron Review

There’s an art to ironing clothes. I know this might sound silly to some, but you really do need to pay attention and have the right iron to get clothes looking their best. My husband and kids love having freshly ironed clothes, and it is part of my regular routine to take care of the ironing. My old iron started to operate less than efficiently a few months ago, so I bought the SINGER Expert Finish 1700 Watt Steam Iron as a replacement. I’ve always trusted Singer and had good luck with their products in the past, so I didn’t feel like I was taking a chance on quality when I bought this iron.

An Expert Iron With a Helpful Display

It turns out that my faith in Singer was well-founded. I’ve noticed that our clothes look much better than they used to since I’ve been using the SINGER Expert Finish Iron. I attribute the improvement to the nice digital display panel on this iron. I can always tell when the iron is heated to the perfect temperature by checking the display panel.

Singer has really added some smart technology to this iron by adding this helpful feature. No more time wasted on seeing if the iron is ready for me. I trust the display to tell me exactly when the iron is ready to get started. I love having the guess-work eliminated and that’s just what the digital readout display does for me.

Evenly Distributed Steam

Some irons seem to emit more steam from some holes than from others. With the SINGER Expert Finish Iron, I have noticed that the steam is evenly distributed across all of the holes. This means that I have to make fewer passes on each garment to get them looking smooth and wrinkle free. Uneven steam is a bane to someone who irons regularly, and thanks to this Singer iron, the days of uneven steaming are gone once and for all.

Cons

  • Too much steam? I don’t know if this is a complaint or not, but sometimes it seems like this iron puts out too much steam. It’s not a huge deal, but it can be distracting.
  • Learning to go Digital. The digital display is a big plus, but it takes a few uses and some trial and error to get used to it. I could have avoided these frustrations by reading the manual a little closer.

Singer has put together one great iron here folks. I love how easy and safe to use this iron is. Even with the excess steam, this iron does exactly what it’s supposed to do – make clothes look great – every time I use it.
